ReplyDeleteYeah - I would launch into heart palpitations at the site of these gems... But - I was NEVER into 8-tracks. I never even owned one. Now if they were cassettes or vinyl... well. *blush*
ReplyDeleteMy old man had an 8-track player in his truck til' the 90's! I used to dig borrowing his truck and playing his Bill Haley tapes!
ReplyDeleteUp to the 90's?Oh puh-leeze,I was cruising to 8-tracks just a couple of years ago. To explain:for several years my second car (AKA my toy) was a beautiful 1979 Lincoln Continental "Collectors Series",loaded to the hilt,including the digitally tuned AM/FM 8 track stereo and,wait for it.....Factory C.B. radio.Me being me,of course I had a box of old 8 tracks laying around so.....
ReplyDeleteMan,nothing better than firing up that beast, cruising down the highway and popping in that Foghat 8 track that had "Slow Ride" on it.....I miss that car....
Heh Heh. He would have had the 8-track player for longer.. but his truck got struck by lightning and fried the 8-track, stock AM/FM radio, and CB radio!!
