The Schwinn Breeze is your straight forward one speed beach cruiser. Accents like two tone paint, and Grenadine Red/Orange tires make this bike a real head turner. Rear racks are also standard this year.
Women's Schwinn Breeze
Vintage style Schwinn seats come standard on Schwinn Breeze models. These seats have the classic Schwinn look, but with all the comfort of today's newer beach cruiser seats.
Bells also come standard on many models now

For those who don't care to be limited to just one speed, the Schwinn Point Beach Cruiser offers a 7-speed drive-train with SRAM Grip-Shift shifter for easy gear changes.
I couldn't get a real good shot of this Huffy due to the vantage point, but it's a 24 inch maroon cruiser, perfect for those from 56 to 62 inches in height.

Huffy is again releasing their "Panama Jack" edition of beach cruisers for 2012. This bike comes with an adjustable rear rack, leather handlebar bag and bottle holder, wooden frame insert, wide sweep cruiser handlebar, and a bottle cap opener which is attached to the front forks!
The Huffy "Nel Lusso" is another good looking bike, and even comes with a front basket standard. It's nice to see Huffy getting more creative with their bicycle color schemes.
Yup.. it's easy to see that Beach Cruisers are gaining popularity lately. I can't wait to see if other bicycle manufacturers follow the trend, and produce more visually appealing standout cruisers for 2012.

Thank goodness retro bikes are back - I may even start riding again! Beach cruiser - I like the sound of that!
ReplyDeleteBeach Cruisers are great! Nice, easy, comfortable riding! And.. if you need more gears, they make lots of models with multiple gears.
ReplyDeleteLast year I got the Schwinn Riverside 7-speed cruiser. Black and off-white, WWW tires and very vintage styling all around. I love it. It's a lot easier to ride than my Dad's 1953 Roadmaster Luxury Liner cruiser that I still have!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is very kool to see these classic-style bike make a comeback, and at decent prices. My only complaint are the tubular forks...kind of throws off the vintage look a little. But they still look great :) Nice post Darrin, great info!
Tiki Chris: You're reading my mind! Would love some old flat forks for my Schwinn Beach Cruiser. I'm going to check into "RETRO" fitting some vintage forks on my 2010 model.
ReplyDeleteThose are some sweet looking retro wheels! I want one! I'm really loving the 70s orange and brown theme on the Panama Jack model.
ReplyDeletePammy: The Panama Jack is a cool retro color scheme indeed. It's definitely right up your alley!!
